Life can be complicated. Our internal reactions and responses can be confusing – and often not helpful at all. Our internal reactions and responses can be the exact opposite of helpful in fact. As a mental health therapist, Kathy supplements her professional training as needed (and wanted) with her reiki training, and training as an end-of-life doula

Kathy strives to practice cultural competence and cultural humility and understands that it's a lifelong journey. Kathy believes in treating everyone with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. Kathy is there to support her clients with their goals.  Her therapy style is warm, interactive, and person-centered. Her approach combines dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and principles of positive psychology.

She likes to support her clients in exploring the word “ and ”, as in ‘talk therapy’ and meditation, or ‘talk therapy’ and exercise, or ‘talk therapy and social support. Kathy believes sustainable changes include multiple ands. Only you can decide the formula that works best for you.

Kathy has lived in various parts of the United States including Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Oregon. She now lives in Corvallis with her husband of over 25 years. Kathy enjoys reading, writing, walking, yoga, and rowing on the rowing machine.
