Caregiving 101: A New Series!

Hello & welcome to our Caregiving 101 Series!

I’m Kathy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oregon and a mental health therapist.  I have years of experience working with older adults, and working in palliative/hospice care, which I use in my current work with those experiencing the stress and fatigue that comes with being a caregiver for an elderly loved one. Something I’ve experienced personally as well.

It has struck me time and time again that there are a lot of resources out there to help…but trying to find them when you’re overwhelmed, overtaxed, stressed out, and dealing with urgent situations can be so challenging.

That is why this blog series exists! My goal is to create open-hearted posts to normalize caregiver fatigue and to provide helpful resources for those of us who can use some easy access support.

If you have stories, suggestions, or questions, send us an email at  info@mindtreeholisticcounseling.com

What I share in this blog comes from my heart and from years of walking alongside caregivers, clients, and fellow human beings doing their best in a complicated system. These blog posts are meant to inform, encourage, and spark self-compassion — not to provide or replace therapy or professional guidance. If something you read here stirs up emotions or questions that feel heavy, please reach out to a trusted mental health provider in your state or call/text 988 for support.
