Family Counseling

Family Counseling“We may not be able to prepare the future for our children, But we can at least prepare our children for the future” – President Franklin D. Roosevelt

Being a parent and having a family can be rewarding and amazing, since it gives us motivation to live, laugh and keep us going. Families can be extremely resilient, having the coping skills to face negative circumstances. However, there might be times when families go through a rough patch and everything seems like a struggle.

Family Counseling Approach

At MindTree Holistic Counseling, we will work either with parents alone or along with their children/teens. Our family counseling approach is  to coach family members with healthy communication skills that can be applied on a daily basis. During sessions, we will strategize specific goals in order to help families learn new skills to succeed, based on their culture, values and belief systems.

MindTree Holistic Counseling has professionally trained mental health therapists in Family Systems therapy. Family Systems therapy believes that, regardless of origin of the problem, whether it is an individual issue or family issue, involving families in sessions often benefits the clients.  Therapists of MindTree Holistic Counseling will facilitate and influence conversations among family members, in a way that promotes healthy patterns of interaction, solutions to current problems and reduce family conflicts. In addition, parents and caregivers are provided with supportive techniques drawn from Filial Therapy, Child Parent Relationship therapy (CPRT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and tools that can be used at home and school with their children.
