Julian is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. He earned his degrees in his home state of South Carolina at the USC Upstate and The Citadel. He possesses a bachelor’s degree in experimental psychology with a minor in Child Advocacy and a master’s degree in psychology with a focus in Clinical Counseling. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Oregon due to the culture, environment and opportunities aligning more closely with the values he possesses. He has been involved in the mental health field since 2016 working in a variety of settings such as inpatient, community non-profit, group private practice and college counseling centers. Throughout the course of his career, the majority of his focus and specialties include working with the adolescent and young adult populations supporting those who possess or have experienced trauma, men’s issues, ADHD, identity development, LGBTQIA+ concerns and couples’ work. Along with the specialties mentioned, Julian also has experience in working with the general adult population and those that would like support for anxiety, depression, interpersonal concerns, life adjustment and ASD.

Julian uses an integrative / eclectic person-centered and solution focused approach to encourage a strong therapeutic relationship so clients may feel safe to explore potential growth opportunities. He incorporates evidenced-based treatment modalities like Trauma Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness into his semi-structured approach to promote flexibility and meet the client wherever they may be in their journey. Previously clients and supervisors have described Julian as someone who is warm, mindful and an out of the box thinker. He highly enjoys working with clients that may be new to therapy or previously had negative experiences with therapy to encourage the mindset change is possible in and out of the therapy room. Julian is trauma-informed and enjoys learning about the client’s unique background and spheres of influence through a culturally sensitive lens to ensure they receive an individualized tailored experience. When he is not working with clients, Julian may be found exploring the PNW through backpacking, photography and cycling. During the rainy season he may be found socializing with friends through board or video games while accompanied by his two cats, Gatsby and Bella.
