What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy focuses on bringing yoga to the individual and meeting each student where they are at in their practice. This allows yoga to be accessible to everyone whether they are brand new to yoga or if they have been practicing yoga for many years. The postures are tailored to the individual by using modifications, variations, and/or props instead of the student trying to perfect the pose. The practice(s) are made to fit the individual’s personal needs and/or goals. Yoga therapy can help in the healing process for common aches and pains, misalignment, injuries, indigestion, addictions, chronic conditions or diseases.
Private Yoga Therapy Sessions
These sessions are conducted one-on-one or semi-private. The client will be asked to fill out a self-assessment prior to the first session. Lindsay reviews the assessment with the client during the first session and together they co-create the client’s individualized practice(s). The follow-up sessions will include modifications of the current practice(s) and/or creating new practices to fit the client’s needs and/or goals.
Yoga Therapy Group Classes
Classes are offered to groups of 2-10 students. Every class will focus on a different theme (i.e. low-back, hips, stress, anxiety, immune system, etc.). Classes will include breath work, postures, mantras, restorative postures, and meditation.
Lindsay Harris is a Certified Yoga Therapist trained in Canada and India through Yoga Therapy International. She has additional certification in trauma yoga and prenatal yoga. Lindsay offers group and private yoga therapy, both services tailoring to the individual and providing yogic tools including breath work, postures, mantras, and meditation.
