Telehealth at MindTree
MindTree is committed to continuing to provide the best care possible, while maintaining the safety of our clients, staff, and community. To maintain a high level of both care and safety during this period of uncertainty, our independent practitioners have opted to offer their services via telehealth. This applies to mental health services, as well as live streaming yoga classes. We hope this enables those clients who wish to remain at home to do so.
Telehealth – an Overview
Telehealth is a video function that enables wellness providers to offer virtual services through a HIPAA compliant video platform, and is designed to be used when the client and provider cannot be in the same space. These sessions can be conducted through a computer, tablet or phone, and we at MindTree can offer assistance to anyone experiencing difficulties with this technology.
Please use the contact form below to schedule either telehealth or in-person appointments.
How does Telehealth Work?
Therapy through telehealth is exactly like a standard session with your therapist – you simply stay home rather than travelling to an office! Studies have demonstrated that the effectiveness of therapy is unchanged by being moved online – progress can be made with either method.
MindTree’s providers use a 100% secure HIPAA approved video platform. When it is time for your session, simply login to the link sent by your therapist, and your provider will be waiting. It is exactly the same as an in-office experience. If you have further questions about the telehealth experience, feel free to contact us here at MindTree for more details.
Are Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Yoga for Children and Families available via the Telehealth platform?
Yes! While telehealth sessions for these expressive therapies (including play therapy, therapeutic art, sandtray therapy, and yoga) may look different from in-person sessions, we will be offering the virtual version of all of these services. Our providers will work with you collaboratively to come up with a treatment plan to ensure progress and attain therapy goals. Yoga will be offered via weekly, donation-based Livestream – the schedule can be found here.
What do I need for a virtual session?
Prior to your appointment, your provider will send you a unique access link to Telehealth. It’s a lot like FaceTime – you can access it from your browser on your computer, tablet, or phone. Your provider may also ask you, via email, to have some items available prior to joining the telehealth session. If so, gather those items. When it is time for your appointment, find a quiet place with few interruptions, click the link at your designated appointment time, and your therapist will be waiting for you.
