The birth of a baby brings excitement and new challenges, especially as a mom and baby recover physically and settle into a new routine. The addition of a new baby to the family can be overwhelming in ways that the caregiver did not anticipate; caregiver might not be able to cope up with on their own. Lot of us have been brought to believe that having a baby is supposed to be one of the happiest times in a women’s life. While that might be true, many of these women battle with feelings of isolation, depression and anxiety; they don’t talk about it due to shame and guilt. Life can be challenging when you struggle with these stressors and therapy can be a great way to get the support you need to lead a happier healthier life.
Harini specializes in addressing mental health issues during pregnancy, post-partum and adjustment to new parenthood. She has experience working with women experiencing depression, anxiety, birth trauma and attachment difficulties. In a calm and supportive environment, Harini gives you a place to discuss thoughts, feelings or situations that might be interfering with your daily life. A client centered approach integrated with Mind Body meditative methods is used to work with women and their families as they navigate through their challenges of having a new born. Therapy sessions are generally one hour, but one and a half hour sessions can also be arranged. Babies up to 6 months are welcome at appointments. For those wanting their babies nearby, but not in session, parents can leave them in our child friendly waiting room under an adult supervision.
