Wellness Yoga Class
Speech Sound Yoga
Ages 4 – 6
Our speech sound yoga group participants learn skills in the area of phonemic awareness in addition to learning how to pronounce speech sounds correctly. Students are taught about the similarities and differences between speech sounds through breathing exercises, yoga poses, games, and stories.
This is an excellent class for little ones with wiggly bodies who are having difficulty pronouncing words, as well as for children who are learning how to read.
Growing Compassionate Kids Yoga
Ages 4 – 7
This class is geared towards older preschool children and early elementary students with an emphasis on social skills. In this class, we combine social-communication strategies with yoga and mindfulness to teach social-emotional skills.
In this social and play-based class, we focus on the building blocks of social skills such as turn-taking, cooperative play, and kindness and compassion for ourselves and for others. Emotional vocabulary skill-building is built-in and our students learn different emotional vocabulary terms and how to identify feelings in themselves and in others.
Expanding Language Yoga
Ages 2 – 3
In this class designed for late talking toddlers, we provide a language enriched environment, activities, play, and yoga to improve children’s receptive and expressive language skills.
Our participants learn new vocabulary words and early cognitive concepts through storybook re-tell, small group activities, and yoga games and poses.
Ages 3 – 5
This class is designed to enhance self-reflection and self-knowledge. We combine yoga, guided meditation, breathing techniques, songs, imaginative stories, games, a conscious snack, and arts/crafts to enhance mindfulness in children.
Our goals are to help children improve their concentration and focus, build empathy and compassion, as well as to help them feel relaxed and calm. This, in turn, improves overall well-being and happiness.
