Marriage & Family Therapist
Therapy is the creation of a safe space that encourages positive and meaningful change. As a marriage and family therapist I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families to gain insight into relational patterns and uncover hidden strengths. I specialize in working with foster and adoptive families, and couples in transition. I approach therapeutic work from a strengths-based, relational perspective and use various therapy models (Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Collaborative Proactive Solutions, Emotionally-Focused Couple Therapy, etc.) according to the needs of each of my clients. I believe that my clients are the experts on their lives and we work alongside one another.
I am a native Portlander and I completed my under graduate work in Social Science at Portland State University. I graduated from Capella University with a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently registered as an intern with the Oregon State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists pursuing licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I hold a Certificate in Adoptive and Foster Family Therapy from Portland State University. I am a PCIT (Parent Child Interactive Therapy) therapist working towards certification.
